"Shocking and uncouth black things with smooth, oily, whale-like surfaces, unpleasant horns that curved inward toward each other, bat wings whose beating made no sound, ugly prehensile paws, and barbed tails that lashed needlessly and disquietingly. And worst of all, they never spoke or laughed, and never smiled because they had no faces at all to smile with, but only a suggestive blankness where a face ought to be. All they ever did was clutch and fly and tickle; that was the way of night-gaunts."

Night-Gaunts attack by swooping down on their prey and latching on with their claws. They generally attack in one of two ways. They worship and revere Behamut.

Night-Guant Poision (Ex) Night-Gaunt poison inflicts a poison that is in itself not painful, but inflicts 1d6 STR damage initially, then 1d6 STR damage as secondary damage 1 minute later. Fort save vc. DC 16 for initial and secondary damage. Their poison is worth 200gp per dose.

Blindsight (Ex) Night-Gaunts, even though faceless, can interact with the world as though they can see. Immune to gaze attacks, blinding, or anything else involving vision.

Tickle (Ex) Once grappled, a Night-Gaunt can dig its claws into its victims flesh, slicing and gashing flesh as a free action. Attack is against the opponent's Touch AC and is +4 to hit. As the claw attacks tickle as a free action, the Night-Gaunt is free to attack with its tail as a standard action.
