- As Amjad take Rose toward the castle, Kutaku contacted Rose through mind link and asked them to meet him at the city gate.
- Amjad took them to the secret palace apartments. As they settled in, Haleli was sent for and also arrived to the apartments
- the next day, they prepared themselves for the king's audience. As they met each other and got ready, Haleli and Kutaku spoke, then Haleli turned and disappeared into the shadow of the wall
- Haleli looked through the castle, saw the king and the busy throne room. She noticed how young the king looked. A black turbaned man stayed close to the king. She looked through the rest of the castle and found a large number of undead and their herders, black robed figures. She returned to the secret apartments to tell them what she saw.
