The party continued down to the Grotto of the Guardians, the homes of the hobwoses and entrance way into the Grotto of the Kings. The grotto's entrance through which they entered was on the highest level. All along the walls, there was a ramp to get to the bottom, and several doors off to the sides. Necromancers guarded entrances. A large pen of the undead was on the bottom-most level. Squads of undead and their necromancer handlers came and went on patrols, going from one particular room on the top level by the Mourner's Gate.

The two groups kept close to one another and discussed what they saw below. From this, an idea was born: both groups have wizards that know sphere of invisibility. The wizards would cast their spheres, and both groups would enter. The hobwose troop would stay above and offer cover while the other would make their way to the entrance that leads to the Grotto of the Kings.

They entered the grotto's top level and the hobwoses did as planned, fanning out next to Sipho, the weight of responsibility resting on her shoulders to make sure everyone stayed invisible. They knocked arrows into their bows and waited.

The party of adventurers looked how the spiral curved around the room and immediately knew that if they tried to use the ramp, it would take much longer and be much more dangerous. So instead, they went the other direction, toward the high reaches directly above the doors leading to the Grotto of the Kings. Adarra took the extra measure of casting Silence around them, as well. Silently and invisibly, they began to pull ropes from their packs for the trip down the grotto wall.

At that same moment, one of the Necromancer guards spotted Sipho, seeing through her magic. Two of the guards, without hesitation, peppered her body with magic missiles, dropping her on the spot. Meril, Fordoc, Larry, and Bunette fired their bows at the necromancers, screaming hobwose profanities at them as they did.

adarra: curious, kept her alive, said she was from another continent kutaku: gave him 500gp, talked about how Behamut's followers are trying to rise up and take over. He's from Visantaari and trying to fight back. jax: smells interesting, very curious about him, rose: hid successfully from the dragon
